About

Since I made my first cyanotype at the Maine Photographic Workshops, I have pushed the process in many ways.  I enlarged medium format negatives from a box camera to 16” x 24” in my darkroom to create my Blue Bodies series.  I then moved away from negatives and began exploring plant materials, mostly tropical plants from the island of Jamaica.  Each image was necessarily the size of the plant so my Plant Portraits range from quite small to 90” x 90”.  In order to work in larger sizes I began working on fabric and to give strength to the smaller works I made artist’s books.  Along the way I have printed on concrete and other surfaces.  For the last few years I have concentrated on stitching on my fabric cyanotypes.
